Creative activities improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals. The creative process allows individuals to become immersed in a sensory activity and allows for artistic self-expression. In turn, this helps to improve self-esteem, manage stress and develop self-awareness.

Being aboard the craft boat, surrounded by the beauty of the canal network contributes positively to this unique experience. When possible creative sessions can include short boat cruises along the canal.

Crafts Afloat Ltd is able to offer a range of bespoke art and craft sessions, one-off workshops or longer running projects. Most activities take place aboard the craft boat, which can accommodate between four and six people, depending on the group and activity.

The Crafty Snail narrowboat is equipped to work in a wide range of materials, including mosaics, textiles, 3D/sculpture, mixed-media and print.

Crafts Afloat is run on solar energy and promotes sustainable energy use and low impact living. All equipment aboard the boat is powered by two solar panels. The boat is heated by a wood burning stove.
Crafts Afloat is available to small groups to hire as an event and art space.

Crafts Afloat has received support and funding from Key Fund and Lloyds School for Social Entrepreneurs.
